RC Plane 2

RC Plane 2 is a universal app with stunning graphics, optimised for the iPhone 4 Retina display and for iPad 1 and 2. It shares its base engine with RC Heli 2, which let us focus on graphics, physics and gameplay: the plane physics was seriously rewritten for a smoother, more realistic flight, and the graphics are many times better than in the first RC Plane. It was made with our partners Ethervision and iDev2.

The main scenario is based on the Tuscan countryside, where FrozenPepper is based. Players of the first game asked for a bigger map, so we made it as large as we could while keeping plenty of ground detail and obstacles: six villages with six RC airfields, plus a lake for hydro planes. Swipe and pinch the in-game map to plan your approach to each airfield.

Game modes and bundles

In-app bundles add game modes and planes: Carrier Ops on an aircraft carrier, Airbus with two airliners and a Jumboliner, Bird Catcher, Fire Fighter with a water plane that can load and drop water, Road Runner and Cargo, plus single planes such as the Spitfire.

The controls let you tweak any channel in real time, with custom rudder control, accelerometer support and four remote modes.

Multiplayer

Air Duel puts you and your opponent at opposite ends of a runway: take off and shoot them down. The first to three kills wins. Bullets follow real trajectories, and landing on an airstrip repairs your plane and reloads your weapon. A Game Center leaderboard tracks the pilots with the most kills.

Years of updates

RC Plane 2 kept growing long after launch:

• WW2 Ops: a nine-mission combat campaign with three planes and its own soundtrack. Complete every mission to unlock a German fighter.
• New scenarios: a huge Desert with four airstrips, villages and a canyon; snowy Mountains; a City; and a military Airfield built for multiplayer duels.
• New modes and vehicles: a Space Shuttle mode, VTOL planes, military drones such as the Predator, a quadcopter and hexacopter bundle, and even an RC Santa sled.
• Complete Edition: one purchase unlocks every current and future in-app purchase and includes a "Best of RC Plane 2" soundtrack album.
• New devices: Retina iPad and iPhone 5 support, screen rotation and, later, a full 64-bit rebuild.
